How the calculators work
Our calculators perform arithmetic on the numbers you enter. You choose every rate of return, inflation rate and other assumption. Where a calculator shows example values, they are there only to show how it works; they are not suggestions or forecasts.
Results are estimates based on simplifying assumptions, such as a steady rate of return every year. Real investment returns and inflation vary, sometimes sharply, and the order in which good and bad years arrive can change outcomes significantly. Unless a page says otherwise, results do not include tax, exit loads, transaction costs or charges.
No guarantee of returns
Investments in securities markets, including mutual funds, are subject to market risks. Past performance does not indicate future returns. Nothing on this website guarantees any return, outcome or retirement date.
Property estimates

Where our pages mention tax rules, government savings schemes, interest rates or regulations, those details can change, often with the Union Budget or a notification from the relevant authority.
