This policy explains what personal data MyFireNumber.in collects, why, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and plain. It is written with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in mind.
The short version
- You can use every calculator without signing up or giving us any personal information.
- The numbers you type into the calculators are processed in your own browser. They are not sent to us or stored by us.
- If you join our email list, we collect your email address and your consent, and use them only to send you the updates you asked for.
What we collect and why
Email list
When you submit the "Notify me" form, we collect your email address and a record that you agreed to receive emails. We use this to tell you when our planner launches and to send occasional updates about MyFireNumber.in. We do not sell or rent your email address.
Technical data
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to deliver the website and keep it secure.
Fonts
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. When they load, your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address. Google's own privacy policy applies to that data.
Analytics
At the time of writing we do not use analytics or advertising cookies. If we add analytics, we will update this policy before doing so.
Who processes your data
Our website is hosted by Netlify, and the email form is handled through Netlify Forms. Your email address is therefore stored on Netlify's systems, which may be located outside India. If we start using an email service to send updates, it will process your email address on our behalf, and we will name it here.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After that we delete it, except where we must keep a record by law.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you,
- correct or update it,
- delete it, or
- withdraw your consent to receive emails, at any time, using the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to us.
Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did with your data before you withdrew it.
Children
This website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their email address, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The website is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. We limit access to personal data and collect as little as we can.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes affecting people on our email list, we will tell you by email.
Contact and grievances
For any question, request or complaint about your personal data, write to hello@myfirenumber.in. We aim to respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may have the right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India once it is in operation.
